ACHIEVEMENTS
A few of the many achievements by our students included various awards presented at the Third Annual Awards Assembly held in May and NHD Awards, along with Mr. Farmer being named a Behring Teacher Ambassador for National History Day.
Our students also proved to be well versed with winning awards at the National Poetry event at the Rostraver Public Library, the Ligonier Valley Writers Annual Poetry Contest, and Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading Competition, and various rewards for AR achievements. Tales from a Leopard's Den (BVAMS's literary magazine) moved up a rank to Superior and is the highest ranking middle school magazine in the state! In addition, several students from Belle Vernon Area Middle School were selected to have their poetry published in an edition of the Anthology of Poetry. Mrs. Frow was also proud to announce that several BVAMS students were selected for publication in the Creative Communications Poetry Contest, sponsored by Davidson Institute for Talent Development.

ENGAGEMENT
From the very first day of school to the last week of school, various activities were enjoyed by the students and staff alike.
The First Annual Color Run started off the school year with a bang. Following it were the school dances, sports competitions, and Field Day . . . not to mention the plays and concerts. So many choices and so many opportunities!!
